I hope that I leave a legacy of non judgmental love. I want my boys to see that all are worthy of love, especially of self. I want to leave a legacy of forgiveness of other and of self. I want to leave a legacy of never giving up.

I once thought that a legacy someone leaves was only for people of wealth. I wasent raised with wealth and so I would look up to the wealthy to see what they were leaving behind as a legacy. And I realized that we all just leave an energetic residue here on earth. As I grew older and wiser, I see that we are all the same people when we die on this planet. But it’s our energy that cannot be destroyed, only transmuted. And of all the things I want my energy to leave behind, is the legacy of unconditional love and forgiveness.

I don’t have kids, but I do have nieces and nephews. Some I know very well and the others I have to get gift suggestions for. I hope that they can remember me for being a kind and supportive auntie. Outside of family, I hope that I will have made a difference here in the lives of new students as they start down this path. Helping them to reach their full potential with foundation work. Helping those in my history classes to understand the beginnings of modern pagan religions. For work, one of my cherished memories at the library, was when a woman I had helped get a book on Oregon custody laws came in to thank me. We went through a lot of steps to find and order that book. It helped her to win her custody case and keep her children. That is the stuff that matters. Helping others to succeed.

Honestly, I am more focused on myself and my family…some I’m getting closer to, some I’m putting more space between us, but in all cases it’s about making sure that what is in my life is enjoyable. I hope that will be my legacy, but I haven’t thought about it in those terms…

I hope that my legacy and how people remember me is knowing that I always tried to help and support people in need of emotional support. People always seem to gravitate to me when something in their life is out of order and I like to listen and provide any words of comfort or wisdom that I can. And I love to make people smile or laugh... don't even need a license for that kind of medicine!
