Tonight we celebrate Samhain under the energy and power of the full moon. Not since 1944 have we had the full moon on October 31 and I plan on spending time under Her light tonight after some mundane online celebration fun. We are also in Mercury Retrograde under the sign of Scorpio which is an emotionally intense sign which likely explains at least some of what many of us are feeling these days.

Scorpio is a sign of death and rebirth and with the Witch's New Year upon us, we can utilize this energy in connecting with our ancestors and spirit guides through an already-thinned veil. Between the Blue Moon, the astrological station of Scorpio, and the Samhain sabbat, we have a rare opportunity to gain insight and guidance as we move into the next magickal year.

I encourage you all to find some quiet moments and consider journaling what comes to you throughout the day and tonight. Take some of your magickal tools, crystals, and any other special items you work with and let them bathe under the moonlight tonight. Ask your ancestors and spirit guides to bless your tools so that they may continue to be used to aid your practice. Use this incredible moment in time to amplify your inherent power so that you can draw upon it throughout the coming year.
