Well, when I did get COVID (I was vaccinated with the J&J) my hubby got and my 19 yr old son too. My work, (nursing home) said I couldn’t come back for 10 days. Which was fine. I felt like crap, but the coughing non-stop, while trying to talk was the most annoying. Hubby said for him it was like a bad cold. I lost my sense of smell, out of breath walking anywhere, pulled all the muscles on one side of my chest from coughing, body aches, and a terrible terrible headache that would not go away, no matter what I took, including my migraine medicine.
I was so glad when it finally started fading. I am back to work, but volunteered to work on the COVID unit, because most of the CNAs are afraid to work it. But I am getting an extra $10 an hour. I am only now starting to get my sense of smell back, but it is faint. I sometimes get a coughing fit too.
Ugh…
I also got a check from worker’s compensation for $1000 for lost wages, which is nice, since I lost a whole paycheck. So, I guess I am lucky I got that even.
We are supposed to be getting two foster children, a sister and brother. Today we found out, because of their ages, they can’t share a room, and we only take the boy (9). Hubby told them we’d prefer the girl, but will take the boy if she has a home placement. They had already placed her. I told him, you better make that our paperwork actually says that we originally said that we prefer to have girls placed with us than boys, because we keep getting called about young boys, and after having one of them that had major issues, that we said we would not deal with, (and I had to start anxiety meds for that I hadn’t taken in 2 years). I am getting quite put off of young boys. They didn’t even call, before placing her, to ask us. Since we originally were taking them both, you would think they would. So something is off, or they put down we want boys. Either way, we are taking in the brother. They did tell us it will probably be long term. (At least that is what they originally said for them both)
So, I can use lots of good vibes for the next week or so. I don’t know yet what day he is coming.
But, I see it as a new beginnings week.
