I have been going through boxes from my last move, #18. I found my old Brownie book from the '60s. I always kept it because I loved the Brownie story and really enjoyed my time as a Brownie. Robert Baden-Powell lived in England and started scouting for the older girls. The younger girls were asking to join so he created the Brownies from a story he remembered called "The Brownies". I'm looking at this in a whole new light now. No wonder why I was so drawn to it when I was young. The calling to paganism was even there at that point. Brownies (fairies, elves), Brownie Magic, Brownie Ring. Walks in nature, crafting, wishing upon stars, sitting in a circle, singing, chants, helping others, etc. It all makes so much sense now.
