Because this is all new to me, I have never considered a magickal or craft name. Well, that is until this last few weeks. I was adopted at birth into an evangelical family and the name given me was Jeffrey Warren Albright. I am not of blood and as an adult I have zero ties with my adopted family. Therefore, my birth name holds zero significance to me other than it is my legal name. Now, I learn that I can have a new name and basically reinvent myself! I turn 53 on Tuesday and what a wonderful gift to myself on my birthdate. This day I will give myself a craft name. That name will be Jeran Bellamy.
Over this last few weeks I have meditated on my magickal name and I keep arriving at the same place. So, Jeran Bellamy it will be. I arrived at this name after hours of research and a long list of possibilities that didn’t make the cut. Jeran comes from the j-rune of the Elder Futhark. One if its many meanings is, “You reap what you sow”. It is a strong name that also denotes peace and harmony. The name Bellamy of French origin means good or handsome friend and speaks of a strong and approachable personality. I find comfort in this new magickal name and look forward to the adventures and experiences I encounter with my craft name. Hello there, I’m Jeran Bellamy!
