I don't think it will stay changed. But for now, I am effectively doing two jobs. running a branch library and doing cataloging. granted the branch is a very small satellite library, but I have been told I can decorate and change it up how I want. In the Navy when I "Fixed" a broken program and got it running properly again (tool control program for the entire base ... no not a computer program though I did put together a database program to fix it) I wasn't given a Navy Achievement Medal because I was overweight. My Lieutenant told me when I was transferring out of the Navy that he had wanted to put me up for that honor as a parting thank you for what I had done there, and they wouldn't let him. But he wanted me to know that he had noticed it. It was just like at my previous bases, other people got credit for things I did all the time. So now I get to do this. Hopefully, the students notice and start using it to study.

That's so crazy and frustrating. I have noticed you here since day 1. You are very smart, learned and encouraging of others... and that is just the start of it all. Your soul shines with love for your family and those you hold dear. AND... you are just beautiful!

since covid our personnel at the library has been drastically cut back and with people retiring and not being able to hire replacement people due to low student numbers it leaves us spread thin. So two of us will be doing two different jobs. for a bit. At least at the quiet library I can still do cataloging stuff and not be too busy to not be able to do it. I just have to find ways of doing parts of it without having the physical books in my hands while doing it, and not messing up the books in the process.

I miss holding and smelling real books but ebooks are so convenient.

Sounds like you work hard and do an excellent job. They are fortunate to have someone like you- I don’t always see that work ethic where I work. You clearly care about making a good environment. Sorry to hear about low student numbers. I think things are changing.
