Yesterday, we had a small herd of deer coming through the front yard and driveway. It's rutting season but still unusual to see them traveling together right now. Visiting were two does with their pair of fawns each (one male one female fawn per doe) plus a magnificent stag.

Stags are rare to see as they are hunted for their antlers often and as a result, take off when startled. I had my Disney Princess moment when this beautiful family of Black Tail Deer did not bolt when I walked out onto my front deck to take pictures. In fact, they became a little desensitized to my presence and the littles decided to investigate me. It was then I packed up my camera and went inside. I don't want them to "unwild" in any way.
