Well, yesterday was *the* day for spending a couple of hours at the ENT for my appointment with the allergist. A few things to report, my previous sessions of nearly 10 years of allergy shots DID indeed aid in reducing the immune response to some allergens. I am no longer significantly allergic to dogs and grass, for example.

The lead-up to this appointment was rough on me with the lack of allergy medication so the rivers of post-nasal funk had me getting sick daily, as well as sneezing and itching in the weirdest places like...inside my ears, the cuticles of my fingernails, the tender skin between toes and fingers. Come to find out that part of that was the detox from Zyrtec. A known reaction to it coming out of your system. UGH. No more Zyrtec if it does that when I stop taking it.

The results basically are that I do have some severe pollen and seasonal allergies along with some general environmental ones. I can do a couple of things to truly work on overcoming. One is going back on allergy shots and the other is sublingual, which is apparently not covered by insurance for stupid as shit reasons. I hesitate to do shots because that would be a lot of travel for me as my ENT is more than an hour away so it'd be a greater than 2-hour drive each time...I'd spend more on gas than the treatment of paying straight for the sublingual. I'm going to appeal to my insurance carrier to see what can be done about it. In the meantime, there are some additional things that have been given to me to work on implementing such as a HEPA filter in the bedroom, adding in a humidifier when needed, and regular sinus rinsing.

As far as the sinus rinsing goes, I'll have to get over my absolute dislike and other issues with things in my nose. bleh.

Just an update, I am now back in and working on getting caught up from being out yesterday.
